Las Verandas at Bahia Beach Resort Rio Grande, PR
The challenge of Las Verandas was having to deal with the high density of housing, amenities and infrastructure; and the associated friction that arises between issues of proximity and privacy.
Nonetheless, the arrangement of buildings provided fantastic opportunities for the integration of plant materials into the architecture and create volumes of color, textures and densities in order to further subdivide spaces and create the illusion of isolation to residents and visitors.

Buffers
The important thing at Las Verandas was the extensive use of vegetation as buffer in order to "create" separation between buildings, as well as from pedestrian circulation, roadways, and parking areas.
